Svenja Deininger is a Vienna-based artist born in 1974.

Her painting is a process beginning with layers of base coats and one abstract form—sometimes a shadow or memory—and then stripping back to raw canvas and opaque areas. The result is paintings that are intense and lacking in visual brushstrokes or gestural styles.
