Sebastian Vallejo
Flores de la Cascada 2019
Sun Capital Office
Sebastian Vallejo was born in Puerto Rico in 1982 and currently lives in Brooklyn, NY.
Vallejo’s work builds on a tradition of artists using found fabrics as their canvas support. Sebastian takes fabrics that reflect his Puerto Rican heritage—brightly colored, almost garish or kitsch, floral patterns. He then paints over them using his hands like the Abstract Expressionist painters of the 1950s.
