Sarah Lucas is an English artist born in 1962 who currently works in London.

Lucas creates kinesthetic photographs, performances, and sculpture, sometimes described as “perverse, feminist art.” She is part of the generation of Young British Artists who emerged during the 1990s, which includes Damien Hirst, Tracey Emin, and Gary Hume. Her works frequently employ visual puns and bawdy humour, and include photography, collage and found objects. Appropriating commonplace materials, the artist creates crude and often inflammatory comments on sexuality, death, and gender.
