Reed Danziger
Loom A, 2015
Long Lake Estates
Reed Danzinger was born 1966 in Berkeley, CA and currently lives in the Bay Area.
Working with oil, watercolor, and graphite, Danziger draws some inspiration from scientific, mathematical, and biological forms, but her process is essentially intuitive - an organic and gradual build-up of intricate layers and spontaneous drips and splashes. Balancing control and chaos, she allows the unpredictable subtleties of the various mediums to dictate the evolution of the composition. As she builds each layer, Danziger interweaves stenciled patterns with free-hand drawing.
