Growing up as the daughter of an artist in Santa Barbara, CA, Dominique Rojas learned to paint at a young age. She had her first solo exhibition in high school.
In 1987, Rojas started her career in the fashion industry with her own line of designer clothing featuring unique embroidered designs and silk screens. After leaving the fashion business in 1994, Rojas returned to painting with a decorative painting business. She worked for many years transforming the walls and furniture of private homes and restaurants in Idaho. Rojas also worked as an artist for The Farmhouse Collection and has since mastered a variety of specialized painting techniques that include faux finishing and trompe l’oeil. Rojas’ most recent body of work utilizes guitar picks to create mosaic installations which memorialize historical artists and musical icons like David Bowie.
