Chris Dorland is a Canadian/American artist who was born in 1978. He currently lives and works in New York City.

Dorland’s paintings explore the logic of consumer society and our increasing co-dependency on technology for both personal and collective experiences. His canvases explore visual data that circulates in “our collective image bank.” Using a scanner and a printer as tools to create paintings, Dorland brings together visual snippets from the worlds of entertainment, advertising and manufacturing into layered collages.
